Apply for a Neighborhood Action Plan Grant

Manatee County’s Neighborhood Action Plan Grant (NAPG) provides grants of up to $10,000 to neighborhoods. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis as long as funds last. Grants may be awarded for any one-time improvement project, activities, or events with a clear public benefit.

Apply for a Neighborhood Enhancement Grant

The purpose of this grant program is to strengthen neighborhood associations and the communities which they serve. Applications must demonstrate community support and involvement in both the application and implementation phases of proposed projects/programs. Manatee County’s Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program provides matching grants of up to $10,000 to neighborhoods. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis as long as funds last. Projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving funding. Grants may be awarded for any one-time improvement project, activities or events with a clear public benefit.

Apply for a Responsible Breeder Permit

The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners passed an ordinance in 2024 aimed at inspecting and regulating pet stores and breeders. The ordinance includes definitions, establishes standards for the care and treatment of animals and requires licensing and permits for operations. It also outlines the process for inspections, enforcement measures and penalties for any violations.

Apply for a Toilet Rebate

Manatee County offers rebates of up to $100 per toilet (max 2) for replacing older, high-flow toilets (3.5 gpf or higher) with high-efficiency models (1.28 gpf or less) to conserve water. Eligibility requires verification, and the old toilet must be retained until approval.

The Construction Site Dewatering Authorization process was established for construction businesses or entities requiring the use of Manatee County's sanitary sewer for temporary disposal of groundwater and/or stormwater at a construction site.

Requirements for Backflow Testing

Every customer who owns a backflow prevention assembly is required to have the assembly tested annually. Log into your Manatee County Utilities online account to find out when your backflow preventer was last tested and the result of your test.

Reserve a Library Meeting Room

Meeting Rooms of various sizes are available to reserve at all Manatee Library locations, excluding the Little Discovery Center.

Reserve a One-to-One Tech Help Appointment

Most Manatee Library locations offer basic one-on-one technology help with a library staff member. These 30-minute sessions assist patrons with Androids, iPhones, tablets, laptops, and library eBook and eAudiobook resources.

Recording studios are available at two (2) Manatee Library locations: Central Library and Lakewood Ranch Library.

Reserve an Athletic Field

To reserve an athletic field for a birthday party, group event, or travel ball team, email alexis.barr@mymanatee.org with your requested dates, times, and preferred location. Be sure to review all fees and provide detailed information. Note that staffing, building access, parking, and field markings are not included in the rental.
