The County Attorney’s Office is a professional law office comprehensively serving the legal needs of the Board of County Commissioners as the governing body of Manatee County.  The County Attorney’s Office also provides supervision, monitoring, and coordination of the Risk Management Division and the operation of risk management and claims administration, including workers' compensation, general and property liability and safety, and related issues, together with the administration of the self-insurance ordinance.

The County Attorney's Office is a professional law office comprehensively serving the legal needs of the Board of County Commissioners as the governing body of Manatee County. The County Attorney's Office also provides legal advice to the County Administrator and the various operating departments of County government. The County Attorney's Office does not make recommendations or take positions on business or policy decisions of the County. 

The Risk Management Division administers the County's self‑insurance program, to include various insurance programs such as workers' compensation, and general and auto liability, safety, and related issues.  The Risk Management Division also pursues claims against other persons for damage to County property and processes claims by individuals who allege to have been injured or sustained property damage as a result of activities of the County.
