Most Manatee Library locations offer basic one-on-one technology help with a library staff member. These 30-minute sessions assist patrons with Androids, iPhones, tablets, laptops, and library eBook and eAudiobook resources. Please note: library staff cannot repair or register devices and cannot fill out forms for patrons.

To find classes, events, and programs at Manatee Library, visit the Event Calendar. Browse the calendar by scrolling or use the filters and search box on the left of the page.
Not all library programs require registration but many do. If there is availability, you can register by: selecting an event and clicking on Begin Registration button. You will be sent a confirmation email after registration and a reminder email the day before the program begins. If this is an online program, a Zoom link will be included. Stay up to date with all Manatee Library news, programs, and library updates by subscribing to our eNewsletter and following us on social media.
Manatee Library offers printed IRS tax forms and instructions each year, usually the 1040 and 1040-SR. Tax forms for the previous tax year are usually available in late January. Library branches often host the AARP Foundation whose IRS-trained volunteers provide free income tax preparation. AARP Tax Aide services usually begin in early February.
Manatee Library staff do:
- assist with making online appointments with AARP Tax Aide services
- hand out available printed tax forms
- assist patrons with using a computer to print other tax forms
- refer patrons to other tax services such as VITA and IRS Offices
Manatee Library staff do not:
- prepare or submit tax returns
- answer tax questions or determine what tax from someone should use
- communicate with IRS, AARP Tax Aide (with exception of help booking online appointments), VITA, or other tax services on behalf of patrons
Manatee Library cards are free for those who reside, own property, work, and/or attend school in Manatee County.
Applications for anyone under 18 require the signature of a parent/legal guardian. Parents/legal guardians may further restrict the types of materials their child may check out.

Manatee Library locations are open:
Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday - Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday at Lakewood Ranch Library: 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday at all other locations: CLOSED
Little Discovery Center is open:
Monday - Friday, by appointment only: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
