Who Can Purchase a Rain Barrel?
All Manatee County residents and businesses are eligible to purchase rain barrels. Each property is limited to four (4) barrels.


How to Purchase a Rain Barrel Kit
Manatee County Utilities customers can conveniently request a rain barrel kit through their online account. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Customer Service System (CSS) Portal.
  2. Select the "Requests" option to submit your rain barrel purchase request.
  3. For assistance with the portal, call Customer Service or email CSS@mymanatee.org.

If you do not have a Manatee County Utilities account, you can still purchase a rain barrel by submitting payment via guaranteed funds (cash or money order) to the drop box at:

Ensure your envelope includes your name, address, and phone number.


What’s Included in the Rain Barrel Kit?
Rain barrel kits cost $52.00 (including sales tax) and include:

  • A 55-gallon reconditioned plastic drum (colors may vary based on supply).
  • A debris drain, PVC fittings, and a brass spigot.
  • Assembly instructions and guidance for building a stand.
  • A homeowner’s guide from the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Pickup Process
Once your payment and application are processed, a member of the Water Conservation Team will contact you to schedule a contact-free pickup appointment. Appointments are required.


Helpful Tips and Notes

  • All sales are final.
  • Barrel colors and parts may vary due to supply availability.
  • The Utilities lobby is currently closed to the public.
