Request an Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a special service, provided to Manatee Library resident cardholders, to obtain materials not available in our library system.

How to enter an ILL Request

  • Access the Library's classic online catalog and enter search terms
  • On the search results screen, select link for "Search Libraries Worldwide for Interlibrary Loan". In the pop-up window, uncheck PAC and check WorldCat.
  • Continue with your request. You will be prompted to log-in if you have not already done so. Please make sure your contact information is updated.
  • To request journal articles, microfilm, or for help entering an ILL request, please email Ask a Librarian

ILL Policy

  • Limit of four (4) requests in any status at a time per library card
  • Items that may not be requested include: items less than 1 year old (submit a purchase suggestion instead); material already owned or on order; electronic resources
  • Reciprocal borrowers, temporary online, and non-resident cardholders may not borrow ILLs 
  • Patrons who have overdue items or fees must clear their library card account before an ILL request may be processed

ILL Renewal

  • A conditional 2-week renewal may be requested, if renewal is allowed by lending library
  • Only one (1) renewal per item may be requested
  • Some lending libraries do not allow renewals

Hours Available: Request online 24/7

Eligibility: Manatee County Library resident cardholders. Non-resident, temporary online, and reciprocal borrower cardholders are not eligible for ILL.
