A lift station is a pump system that moves wastewater from lower to higher elevations when gravity flow is not possible. Manatee County operates numerous lift stations to ensure efficient wastewater collection and transport to treatment facilities. These stations help maintain proper sewer function and prevent backups in low-lying areas.
