  • Sea turtle nesting season is from May 1 to October 31.  It is against the law to touch or disturb nesting sea turtles, hatchlings, or their nests.  Help us protect these magnificent creatures.  For more information about sea turtles or to learn how you can help protect them, visit Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch & Shorebird Monitoring.
  • Lifeguards are on duty 365 days a year at Manatee Public Beach.  The covered hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Labor Day thru Memorial Day and 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day (summer).  
  • Due to summer rains, flooding of beach parking is a common occurrence throughout the season.  Parks Maintenance will grade roadways and parking lots to remove potholes and improve conditions when areas are dry enough to do so.

POLICIES & REGULATIONS

  • Alcohol, littering, & glass containers are prohibited.
  • Pets are prohibited.
  • Drones and other remotely operated vehicles or toys are prohibited.
  • No campfires. Grilling is allowed only in provided grills.
  • Fireworks are prohibited.
  • Disturbing wildlife or destruction of habitat by walking on dunes is prohibited.
  • Golf carts, ATVs, and other vehicles are not allowed on pedestrian paths or on the beach.
  • Wildlife is protected by law from being hunted, harassed, injured, captured, chased, displaced or otherwise disturbed. Please enjoy viewing and photographing wildlife from a distance.
  • Sea Turtle Season is May 1 - Oct 31
    • No lights on the beach after sunset.
    • Do not approach turtles or nests.
    • Remove beach furniture at dusk.
    • Leave nests and signs undisturbed. 

Manatee County employees reserve the right to expel visitors for violation of these rules and/or any listed in Manatee County Code Chapter 2-24.

VIOLATIONS PUNISHABLE BY FINE OR IMPRISONMENT UNDER MANATEE COUNTY CODE OF ORD. CHAPTER 2-24 STATE AND FEDERAL LAW
