Recreation Accessibility

Manatee County Sports and Leisure and Parks Grounds offer amenities and features that increase accessibility for all to enjoy.

Beaches: These beaches have beach mats from entrance towards shore like to allow those with mobility issues or wheelchairs to access the beach with ease.

Playgrounds: Manatee County offers many playground locations with accessible features for all children to enjoy. There are accessible playground ramps at Lakewood Ranch Park, Palma Sola Park, Blackstone, and Tom Bennett Park features a fully accessible and fully inclusive structure featuring ramps to access most elements of the play structure, a wheelchair accessible merry-go-round, and ADA swing and Zipline.

Our large district and regional parks offer ADA Compliant Restrooms and Parking Spaces.

Lakewood Ranch Park - Has 16 ADA parking spots, ADA compliant restrooms and sidewalks, and 4 ADA/Wheelchair accessible picnic tables. The playground also has an ADA swing

Palma Sola Park- Has 7 ADA Parking Spots (2 at Baseball and 5 at Softball), 2 ADA bathrooms and 1 ADA/Wheelchair accessible picnic table at each location.

G.T. Bray Park has

Blackstone Park - Has 10 ADA Parking Spots around the park, ADA compliant restrooms, and over 10 wheelchair accessible picnic tables. Playground also has an ADA swing.

Buffalo Creek has

Braden River Park has

John Marble Park - Has 2 ADA parking spots and 3 ADA bathrooms. The Recreation Facility has an accessibility ramp to the ADA front door entrance.
