Find Help with Applying for VA Healthcare

Manatee County Veterans Services assists eligible veterans and dependents in getting the health services to which they are entitled. We can assist you in receiving health care from a local VA health care facility.  Some of the services provided at the facility include:

  • Hospital, outpatient, medical, dental, pharmacy and prosthetic services
  • Domiciliary, nursing home and community-based residential care
  • Sexual trauma counseling
  • Special health care for female veterans
  • Health and rehabilitation programs for homeless veterans
  • Readjustment counseling
  • Alcohol and drug dependency treatment
  • Medical treatment for exposure to Agent Orange, radiation or environmental hazards
  • Outreach programs for homebound veterans or veterans in nursing homes or hospitals

Call your Veterans Services Counselor to apply. 

Information needed before applying includes:

  • Veterans DD214
  • Driver License or State ID
  • Copies of current Insurance card
  • Previous calendar year's income for the household

Note: Once approved, the Veteran applying must be present at the VA clinic so a picture for the VA healthcare ID can be obtained.

Hours Available: Our lobby hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. We are closed for lunch from noon-1 p.m.

You may access VA healthcare if you are one of the following:

  • Veteran
  • Reservist or National Guard member under some circumstances
