Program provides Baker Act services to children who are in acute psychiatric distress and have been determined to be a threat to themselves or others.

Program includes inpatient crisis stabilization, psychiatric treatment, medication stabilization, individual, group and family therapy, and discharge planning for follow-up care of clients who are assessed as requiring 24-hour care under the Baker Act until they are stabilized and can be treated in a less intensive setting.

The Baker Act, officially known as the Florida Mental Health Act (passed in 1971), allows for the involuntary institutionalization and examination of an individual if they are deemed a danger to themselves or others due to mental illness.
