About
Commissioner Rahn is a lifelong resident of Manatee/Sarasota counties. After graduating from Sarasota High School in 1980, Rahn joined the United States Marine Corps where he served 13 distinguished years, both active and reserve duty. He also served in Operation Desert Storm and was honorably discharged. While serving in the Marines, Rahn was awarded numerous meritorious citations, medals and ribbons. Rahn has been a residential mortgage leader for over 35 years in the Manatee/Sarasota market, helping hundreds of homeowners obtain the American dream of homeownership. Commissioner Rahn currently serves as Chairman of Seaport Manatee Port Authority Board, as well as Chairman of the New College Foundation, Audit Committee, and is a member of the Finance Committee and Foundation Board of Directors.

Additional Highlights
Rahn previously served as Chairman of the Board for the Safe Children Coalition (SCC). He is the Chairman of the SCC Foundation Board, and he was a member of the Finance and Philanthropy Committees. SCC is the largest foster-care and adoption program in the three counties under the 12th District Court.
Commissioner Rahn has two sons and three grandchildren. When he’s not working, he enjoys playing golf, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Commissioner Rahn is a conservative Republican and believes in the Constitution. He believes in supporting the military, law enforcement and first responders. He is supporter of Gov. DeSantis and President Trump. He is pro-life.
His life motto is the quote by Muhammad Ali: “The service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”
