Teens (14+), are you interested in working with younger children? Build leadership skills and gain valuable job experience by joining our Junior Blast Camp Program! As a participant, you will be assigned to younger age groups to help organize and lead activities under the guidance of our camp counselors.
Important Information for Parents:
Before registering, please discuss with your child whether they prefer to participate as a helper or as a camper. Junior Blast Camp participants are required to assist counselors with younger campers. If your 14-year-old would rather be grouped with peers their own age, please explore our Summer Blast Camp options.
Program Details:
- Dates and general information are the same as Summer Blast Camp.
- Registration opens April 1.
- Registration fee does not guarantee placement in the camp, specific weeks, or optional field trips, as weekly registration limits apply to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants.
- Space is reserved only for the weeks you have paid for in advance.

During Summer Blast Camp, we plan to offer FREE lunches for weeks 1-10, courtesy of the Manatee County School Boards free lunch program. Menus will not be available this year. For more information visit www.SummerBreakSpot.org. (*Subject to change)
Children are expected to bring their own lunch during our holiday camps.
Yes, there are space constraints in place. These constraints encompass minimum enrollment requirements necessary to facilitate the camp, as well as a cap on the number of attendees. To secure your child's spot in any of our camp programs, we recommend early registration, as we anticipate reaching full capacity.
Additionally, we are focused on maintaining ratios of 1:15, therefore affecting the number of campers permitted. We understand this will limit the number of participants permitted into our program; however we believe the experience benefits greatly from quality of service being provided.
The Natural Resources Department offers a series of Outdoor Adventure Camps for youth ages 9-12. Registration opens April 1, at 8 am.
