In accordance with Section 125.66(3)(a), Florida Statutes, a Business Impact Estimate (BIE) is required to be prepared before enacting certain ordinances and posted on Manatee County’s website no later than the date the notice of intent to consider the proposed ordinance is published (which, per Section 125.66, Florida Statutes, is 10 days before the public hearing).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Section 125.66, Florida Statutes, that the Board of County Commissioners of Manatee County, Florida (Board), will conduct a public hearing on the 1st day of April, 2025 at 9:00 A.M. or as soon thereafter as same may be heard in the Patricia M. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 125.66, Florida Statutes, that the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on April 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. (or as soon thereafter as may be heard), in the Patricia M. Glass Chambers, located on the first floor of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida, to consider, act upon, enact, or reject the following matter:
All interested parties may appear and be heard at the meeting with respect to the proposed Ordinance, subject to the proper rules of conduct. The public hearing may be continued from time to time to a date and time certain or to no date certain and re-advertised. The public may also provide written comments to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration. Any comments filed with the Director of the Public Safety Department will be considered by the Board of County Commissioners and entered into the record. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available for public inspection from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Manatee County Public Safety Department, 2101 47th Terrace E., Bradenton, Florida. Interested parties may obtain assistance regarding this matter by calling (941) 749-3070 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or emailing planning.agenda@mymanatee.org.
In accordance with Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matters considered at such meeting or hearing, that person will need a record of the proceedings. For such purpose, that person may need to assure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record would include any testimony or evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
Summary of Ordinance and Statement of Public Purpose: Amendment of Article VI Section 2-21-89(b)(1)f of the Manatee County Code changes the required submission timeline for the completed application package, including supporting affidavits and documents. This changes the current requirement of fifteen (15) calendar days prior to the proposed public display to thirty (30) days. The purpose of the change of this ordinance is to allow staff additional time to process the firework permit applications and related paperwork.
Business Impact Estimate: An estimate of the direct economic impact of the proposed ordinance on private, for-profit businesses in the county is $0.: An estimate of direct compliance costs that businesses may reasonably incur if the ordinance is enacted is $0. There will be no new charges or fees on businesses subject to the proposed ordinance or for which businesses will be financially responsible. An estimate of the County’s regulatory costs is $0. An estimate of revenues from any new charges or fees that will be imposed on businesses to cover such costs is $0. A good faith estimate of the number of businesses likely to be impacted by the ordinance is –0.
