MANATEE COUNTY, FL (November 2, 2023) – There’s a new place for Manatee County’s amateur athletes to hone their skills. Brand-new soccer and multi-purpose/sport fields at Buffalo Creek Park will be dedicated with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, November 7, at 5:45 p.m., followed by a scrimmage at 6 p.m. The new facility is located at 7550 69th St. E. in Palmetto.
“District One families have been blessed with a number of new and exciting projects in Manatee County,” said Commissioner James Satcher. “This expansion and exceptional use of space will provide another awesome venue for all sorts of sports and recreation. The goal is to make this the greatest place in America to live and raise a family.”
The explosion of league play in the Parrish area has been bringing hundreds of families out to the park on evenings and weekends, creating a need for both an additional soccer and multipurpose field. The creation of the fields and new parking spaces is just part of the County Commission’s plan for the area. A nearby $17-million park for community gatherings, additional baseball and soccer fields is coming soon.
