Lincoln Aquatic Center Offering After-Hours Swim Sessions

Woman on water slide at Lincoln PoolMANATEE COUNTY, FL (June 12, 2023) – Capitalizing on the continued popularity of the year-old Lincoln Aquatic Center in Palmetto, Manatee County is announcing extended swim hours on alternating Thursday evenings through July.

In addition to the two daily swim sessions (11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.), on Thursday, June 15, the pools and water play areas at the facility, located at 715 17th St. East, will be open for a third daily swim session from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

After-hour splash sessions are also scheduled for Thursday, June 29; Thursday, July 13; and Thursday, July 27, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. There is no cost for this extended session as swim fees are presently suspended at all Manatee County pools and splash pads.

“We wanted to offer something different to the community,” said Captain John S. Linxwiler with the Manatee County Department of Public Safety, who noted that the daily swim sessions continue to be very well attended. “On many days, we hit 170 guests within the first 10 minutes of opening,” he said.

UPDATED AS OF 6/14: There is one other scheduling adjustment to note at the Lincoln Aquatic Center. The pool and waterpark complex will be closed Monday, June 19, and Tuesday, June 20, 2023, to complete necessary maintenance. The facility will reopen for swimming Wednesday, June 21, at 11:30 a.m.
