Manatee County accepting applications for upcoming vacancy on Tourist Development Council

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Nov. 25, 2019) – Manatee County is now accepting applications for a vacancy on the Tourist Development Council (TDC), a citizens advisory committee that makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the expenditures of Tourist Tax Revenues.

The TDC is comprised of nine members who make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners concerning the effective operation of the projects set forth in the Tourist Development Plan and the uses for which Tourist Development Tax revenues may be spent.

The TDC is seeking to fill the seat of one elected municipal official who did not seek reelection to his elected position. The remainder of the TDC term expires June 30, 2020 at which time the appointee may re-apply to serve for a four-year term. All applicants must be registered voters in Manatee County. Applications are due Dec. 20 and may be found online.

The TDC meets on the third Monday of every other month at 9 a.m. at various locations throughout Manatee County.
