Manatee CARES Housing Assistance Program

Applications Open Now through August 20

Up to 500 applications will be accepted for Manatee CARES: Housing Assistance Program Round 2 funded through CARES Relief funding.

More residents may now qualify for relief help. Applicants who did not get to participate or were not included in the lottery for Round 1, including residents of the City of Bradenton, will now be able to apply.

When funding opens you will need to register through the Neighborly portal and complete the required application in its entirety. Funding will be awarded on a first come, first eligible basis until all funds are committed.

Please note that to participate you must have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic on or after March 1, 2020 and are delinquent on rental or mortgage payments due to job loss, furlough, work hour reduction, etc. This grant is to provide funds to renters and homeowners residing in Manatee County and its municipalities.

NOTE: You can only apply for assistance to cover Coronavirus-related rent or mortgage that has not already been paid for by your insurance or by another federal program or other resource.

Eligibility

You must be:

  • U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident
  • Resident of Manatee County including its municipalities
  • Current Gross Household income is below the 150% area median income (AMI) level for household size

You can only apply for assistance to cover Coronavirus-related rent or mortgage that has not already been paid for by your insurance or by another federal program or other resource.

Required Documents

The following documents will be required to be submitted electronically with the application:

  • Letter or Statement from Landlord on company letterhead stating amount owed and months rent is due or most recent mortgage  statement showing delinquent amount owed (*funds can pay for mortgage principal, interest and insurance but cannot pay for the property tax)
  • Documentation showing loss of income as a result of COVID-19 on or after March 1, 2020
  • Current lease and contact information for your landlord (Landlord must agree to participate) or contact information for mortgage company/lender (Lender must agree to participate)
  • Proof of identification for Applicant Only
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Residency for Applicant Only
