Gotcha Day Returns to MCAS on June 16th with 50% Off Adoption Fees & Prizes

Happy “Gotcha Day” is an event to commemorate the day new pet parents can say it was the day “We Gotcha from the Shelter” to their new four-legged family member. The one-day event is co-hosted by the Friends of Manatee County Animal Services, the nonprofit fundraising arm that works hand in hand with the Manatee County Animal Services shelter and the Furry Friends of Manatee County Animal Services, the volunteers who are making a difference in the shelter animals’ lives.

“Gotcha Day” will be held Saturday, June 16th at both Manatee County Animal Services Adoption Facilities. Both shelters – 305 25th St. West, Palmetto, FL (dogs only, Mon. – Sat., 10am-5pm, except open until 7 p.m. on Wednesday) and 1002B Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, FL (cats only, Tues. – Sat., 11am-3pm) will be offering 50% off adoption fees for ALL pets ($40 for dogs and $20 for cats) plus a $15.00 tag fee (Manatee County residents only). All animals will be spayed or neutered, chipped and up to date on shots, a value over $300.00. The event is designed to place adoptable animals in good homes and relieve the overcrowded kennels at the shelter.

There will be free prizes for the first 20 adoptions at each location and every new pet parent will receive a “Gotcha Day” birth certificate. Free giveaways, including all natural, homemade dog treats from Riley’s Barkery, will be offered to adopters, while supplies last.

Donations will be accepted for the Kitten Shower Party at the MCAS Downtown Cat Adoption Center from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring an item for the donation drive. Light refreshments and desserts will be provided. Due to the high volume of kittens born every spring and summer, MCAS needs the following donations:
· KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement)
· Canned kitten food
· Kitten nursing bottles/droppers/miracle nipples
· Heating pads (with auto shut-off)
· Baby blankets
Let’s celebrate these lovable shelter cats and find new homes and fosters for them!

FoMCAS and MCAS encourage everyone to visit the shelter, come to the event to adopt, not shop, and see what wonderful animals there are just waiting for forever homes.
