MCAS Celebrates Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month in June
Posted on 06/01/2018
June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month and Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) is having a “Meow Luau” Promotion offering $30 adoption fees for a single cat/kitten and BOGO (2nd FREE) option starting today through June 30th. All cat adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and rabies certificate. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $15. The special promotion will be held at the MCAS Downtown Cat Adoption Center located at 1002 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton.

Donations will be accepted for the Kitten Shower Drive, which will run for the entire month. Due to the high volume of kittens born every spring and summer, MCAS needs the following donations:
· KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement)
· Canned kitten food
· Kitten nursing bottles/droppers/miracle nipples
· Heating pads (with auto shut-off)
· Baby blankets

On June 16th, MCAS (in conjunction with the Friends of Manatee County Animal Services) will be celebrating “Gotcha Day” at both locations. Full press release to follow next week. On that day, there will be a Kitten Shower Party at the MCAS Downtown Cat Adoption Center from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring an item for the donation drive. Light refreshments and desserts will be provided. Let’s celebrate these lovable shelter cats and find new homes and fosters for them!
