The Manatee County Water Program provides retail potable (drinking) water service to over 290,000 County and seasonal residents in unincorporated Manatee County and the cities of Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, and Anna Maria, and wholesale service to the neighboring communities of Palmetto, Longboat Key, Bradenton, and Sarasota County. Keep Manatee Beautiful, Inc., is a non-profit educational organization that has brought an innovative vision to Manatee County. Its commitment is to create a cleaner, more beautiful community. The Marine Resources Program of the Natural Resources Department is charged with installing and maintaining those aids to navigation and regulatory waterway signs that are the County's responsibility, the removal of lost and abandoned vessels from the County waterways, construction of artificial reefs, manatee protection efforts, and the construction and maintenance of County boat ramp facilities.
