E-Scrap
The term "E-scrap" is applied to consumer electronic equipment that is no longer wanted. Many components in electronic equipment contain hazardous materials such as lead, cadmium, mercury and aresenic. While in use, the hazardous materials are not a problem, but when they are discarded they pose a threat to the environment.
Three (3) Ways to Dispose of E-Scrap
- Free E-Scrap and Household Hazardous Waste collection the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the E-scrap collection center of the Landfill. Also watch for mobile collection dates. Call 798-6761 for more information.
- E-scrap may also be collected at the curb after special arrangements have been made. You will need to call 792-8811 to make your arrangements. There is a fee involved with this service or your one free annual pick-up may be utilized.
- Residents may also bring their E-Scrap (NO HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE) to the Landfill every Mon.-Fri. and the 1st, 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You must go over the scales to declare your e-scrap.
