The Industrial Compliance Section of the Wastewater Division is responsible for administering the County’s Industrial Pretreatment Program, Hauled Waste Program, and Fats, Oil, and Grease (FOG) Control Program. The primary goals are to protect public health and the environment by preventing hazardous substances from being discharged to the Sanitary Sewer, protect the Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) from pollutants that may interfere with its efficient operation, and protect POTW workers from potential safety hazards associated with unsafe wastes. The Hauled Waste Program is intended to provide an environmentally safe means for the disposal of domestic septage, chemical toilet waste, and grease trap/interceptor waste for businesses involved in the transport and disposal of such wastes. [more]
