What are my garbage service days?
Garbage Pickup Schedule
Residential household waste is collected twice per week: either every Monday/Thursday, or Tuesday/Friday. Please view the map to determine your garbage collection days. For additional information, including when and where to place your curbside garbage, please go to the Household Waste page.
Recycling Pickup Schedule
Curbside collection of recycling items is once a week. Each residence is issued two (2) containers to be used for recycling: one for paper and cardboard, another for comingled materials (cans, glass, plastic, etc.). Please view the map for your scheduled pickup day.

Yard Waste Pickup Schedule
All Yard Waste is picked up on Wednesdays. Properly prepared Yard Waste placed not more than three (3) feet from the curb or road will be collected once a week between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

What time is my garbage pickup?
Your waste must be placed in one location, not more than three (3) feet from the curb or road, before 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection. Residential collection can be anytime between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Manatee County Landfill is closed for the following seven holidays each year:
- New Year's Day
- President's Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day

What is Household Hazardous Waste?
Hazardous Waste must not be placed at curbside. Residents may dispose of solvents, paint, used oil, pesticides, household chemicals, ammunition and other Household Hazardous Waste for free at the Lena Road Landfill on the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What size garbage can should I be using?
- Waste must be contained in water tight plastic bags at least 1.5 mil thick, or cans of 32 gallon capacity.
- The total weight must not exceed 50 pounds.
- Cardboard boxes are not suitable containers. Empty cardboard boxes will be removed if they are broken down and bundled.
- Please do not place household waste or Yard Waste inside the blue recycling bins.
- Your waste must be placed in one location, not more than three (3) feet from the curb or road, before 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection.
- Residential collection can be anytime between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

How do I schedule a pickup for tires?
Two (2) tires may be placed at the curb with your garbage. More than two tires require a special pickup, which may be requested by calling Manatee County Utilities Customer Service at 941-792-8811.

Do I need to schedule a special pickup for furniture (i.e. couch/chair/mattress)?
Furniture is categorized as "special items", and can be placed out with the regular household garbage, free of charge. However, please do not exceed two items per collection day.

Do I need to schedule a special pickup for E-Scrap?
E-Scrap can be placed at the curb for a fee of $17.31 per pickup. Please call Manatee County Utilities Customer Service at 941-792-8811, Mon-Fri 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to schedule this pick up.
There is no fee if you bring your Household Hazardous Waste and E-scrap materials to the Lena Road Landfill the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Manatee County businesses wishing to dispose of large amounts of E-Scrap materials should call 941-708-8561 for more information.
