Special Needs Registry
The Special Needs Registry is designed to assist residents of Manatee County who will require transportation or sheltering assistance when the citizen is notified to evacuate their residence because of a storm.
Special Needs Letter, Checklist and Application
Hurricane Season begins June 1 and runs through the end of November.
You will need to evacuate your home from a pending hurricane, only if you are power dependent or live in an evacuation zone or in a mobile home. Residents are encouraged to use public sheltering only if no other options exist.
If you need evacuation transportation or require sheltering assistance, pre-registering will help expedite the process. A Registration Form is required for sheltering or transportation assistance to an American Red Cross shelter, assisted care shelter, hospital or nursing home.
Please complete and return the form to Manatee County Emergency Management, P.O. Box 1000, Bradenton, Florida 34206-1000. Each year you will need to update and return the form. Both the application and the letter/checklist are available below.
