What we do

The Emergency Communications Center (ECC) is the 9-1-1 dispatch center for Manatee County EMS and 11 Fire agencies, as well as the call processing center for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office (including Anna Maria Island) and the City of Bradenton Beach Police Department. Dispatchers at the ECC answer all 9-1-1 calls throughout Manatee County, excluding the City of Bradenton landline (non-cell) phone calls. [more]
The Emergency Management Division of the Public Safety Department provides protection for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Manatee County.
This is accomplished through effective contingency planning, disaster event coordination of local and state agencies, all hazards public education, disaster training and exercises for emergency responders which is accomplished throughout the four phases of Emergency Management: preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation. We maintain the telephone and radio systems used by the County. These systems handle the day-to-day needs of our office and field staff, provide a means of emergency dispatch and notification, and automatically handle some questions concerning County business. [more]
