The Survey Division is currently installing benchmarks in preparation for new flood maps being released. Installation of the benchmarks throughout the County may help with flood insurance savings for citizens of Manatee County. Citizens can now purchase naming rights to benchmarks.

Naming Rights

The Survey Division has created an opportunity for you to become a piece of history.

By ordering the naming rights to a benchmark, you can choose to commemorate a persons name. The name is stamped onto a metal disk, then attached to a stable structure.  Once the monument is set and vertical data is gathered, the data along with the name will be sent to the National Geodetic Survey where it will be archived and available for public retrieval.
