Lifeguard Training
G.T. Bray Aquatic Center is proud to offer the American Red Cross lifeguard training program. The classes for this course occur during the spring with 4 classes between March and May and one fall class held during October. The lifeguard training program includes lifeguarding citification, first aid certification, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
The cost of the class is $180.00. The price includes the American Red Cross Lifeguard certification cards and a CPR pocket mask.
Participants must be at least 15 years old to participate in this class.
Those interested must pass a pre-test to qualify for the lifeguarding course. This includes a 300 yard swim, 2 minutes treading water and a 20 yard brick retrieval.
Classes usually cover two weeks, Monday through Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!
