American History in Video

American History in Video provides the richest online collection of video available for the study of American history. Students and scholars can experience and study footage of interest from THOUSANDS of hours of documentaries and newsreels. A&E Television Networks, The History Channel®, A&E Network®, and Biography® have contributed archival footage and full length videos that explore history from colonial times to the Persian Gulf War.

Archive Grid

Archive Grid lists the contents of hundreds of special archival collections in libraries throughout the United States. [Available for in-library use only]

ARRC Auto Repair Reference Center

ARRC Auto Repair Reference Center provides service bulletins, repair procedures, and wiring diagrams for 100s of automobile makes and models from 1945 to the present year.

CAMIO -- Catalog of Art Museum Images

CAMIO -- Catalog of Art Museum Images provides keyword access to thousands of art reproduction images from museum collections around the world, including photos, paintings, textiles, architecture, and sculpture. [Available for in-library use only]

Consumer Health Complete

Consumer Health Complete - Designed for the everyday reader requiring medical information, CHC provides convenient access to easily understandable health and medical information. Consumers can search and browse information gleaned from medical encyclopedias, popular reference books, and magazine articles.

EBSCOHost

EBSCOHost is designed specifically for public libraries. It includes MasterFILE Premier which contains full text for more than 1,700 periodicals covering general reference, business, health, education, general science, and multicultural issues. It also provides access to nearly 500 reference books, thousands of biographies, over 100,000 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of close to 300,000 photos, maps & flags. Children’s and Spanish language options are available.

FirstSearch

FirstSearch includes the following databases:

WorldCat – a comprehensive worldwide catalog that identifies over 60 million books and other library materials.

GPO – Identifies over 500,000 U.S. government documents, providing links to those available online.

ERIC – an educational research database that identifies over a million education-related journal articles and research materials

World Almanac – Full text access to Funk & Wagnall’s New Encyclopedia and The World Almanac

You may also use FirstSearch to request an Interlibrary Loan. Please note that no "new" titles (less than one year old) may be requested.

OAI – Open Archives Initiative - a unique catalog of over 19 million digital resources including scanned books and articles, audio files, images and movies

Gale Virtual Reference Library

Gale Virtual Reference Library offers access to over 1,000 reference sources on topics ranging from the arts and literature to the sciences and history. Available 24/7 from your personal computer.

Heritage Quest

Heritage Quest includes images and extensive indexing from the 1790 - 1930 U.S. federal censuses. It offers more than 20,000 book titles including nearly 8,000 family histories and over 12,000 local histories. Additionally, there are more than 250 primary-source documents such as tax lists, city directories, probate and military records, and Periodical Source Index (PERSI), which covers more than 6,300 genealogy and history periodicals written in English and French (Canada) since 1800.

Infobase e-Book Collection

INFOBASE e-Book Collection provides full-text access to over 60 Young Adult books on teen issues, medical and health questions, and science and technology research.

INFOTRAC

INFOTRAC provides instant access to over 6,000 full-text periodical and newspaper titles with back files to 1980. This site includes over 50 additional databases for students and researchers on health, history, education, law, literature, and travel. Infotrac is also available in Children’s and Spanish language options.

Infoweb

infoweb provides full text access to current news articles and back issues, plus broadcast video content and news wire data from over 3000 sources across the U.S. and worldwide including full content from the Bradenton Herald, St. Pete Times, Sarasota Herald-Tribune, and Tampa Tribune.

The Public Library Collection provides subject access to millions of articles on current events and pro/con issues.

Also includes America's GenealogyBank, a historical newspaper data base, and access to recent editions of the New York Times, New York Times Magazine and New York Times Book Review, and Barron's.

LearningExpress Library

LearningExpress Library provides access to practice tests and study guides designed to help patrons, students, and adult learners pass academic or licensing tests. Includes tutorials for FCAT, GED, GRE, TOEFL, citizenship, and ASVAB as well as Civil Service exams for police and firefighters, and practice for nursing and cosmetology professionals.

Legal Information Reference Center

Legal Information Reference Center - Contains more than 310 full-text publications and thousands of legal forms that address a wide-range of legal issues. Reference sources are provided through Nolo, a respected publisher of legal information for consumers and small businesses.

Literary Reference Center Plus

Literary Reference Center Plus - Provides full text for more than 31,000 plot summaries, synopses and work overviews, nearly 100,000 articles/essays of literary criticism, over 159,000 author biographies, 450 literary journals, plus 632,000 book reviews, 69,000 classic and contemporary poems, more than 18,000 classic and contemporary short stories, over 5,600 author interviews, and more than 8,200 texts of classics.

Mango Languages

Mango Languages is an online language-learning system that can help you learn languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian, Russian and more!

NetLibrary eBooks

Netlibrary eBook Collection is now part of EBSCO. The NetLibrary link will open the EBSCO menu. From there, click on the MasterFILE Premier link and scroll to the bottom of the page. The last link on the page is for eBook Collection.

eAudiobooks that were previously available through NetLibrary, are now available with OneClickdigital.

New York Times Archive

New York Times Archives provides access to over 2 million full text articles from the New York Times.

Novelist Plus and Novelist Plus (K-8)

NOVELIST PLUS - provides reading recommendations in fiction and nonfiction, identifying read-alike titles, series, authors, and genres by matching setting, plot, and style.

NOVELIST PLUS K-8 - assists parents and teachers in locating appropriate reading material for children by matching their reading abilities and interests up to middle school reading level.

One Click Digital

One Click Digital is is a brand new site hosted by Recorded Books. All downloadable audiobooks that were available on the NetLibrary site are now residing here, along with some bonus materials. (Please note, this site is still undergoing "beta" testing.)

OverDrive

Titles from OverDrive-powered sites can be enjoyed at your computer plus a wide variety of devices, including the Amazon Kindle and the Barnes & Noble NOOK reader.

Please note that due to licensing restrictions, Overdrive is not available for reciprocal borrowers or patrons with "non-resident" library cards.

Points of View Reference Center

Points of View Reference Center - A pro/con database designed to assist researchers in understanding the full scope of contemporary controversial subjects. High school and undergraduate students can use Points of View as a guide to debate, develop arguments, or write position papers. Essays include a series of questions, links to articles, and additional material to generate further thought.

Salem Health

Salem Health provides full text access to Salem Health Cancer Encyclopedia and Salem Health Genetics Encyclopedia.

Salem History

Salem History provides full text access to articles on American and world history with full access to Salem Press Decades series: 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s in America. Salem History also includes sections on Great Athletes, Inventors, Modern Scandals, The Middle Ages, and Survey of American Industry and Careers.

Salem Science

Salem Science provides full text access to the Salem Press encyclopedias: Forensic Sciences and The Solar System.

Small Engine Repair Reference Center

Small Engine Repair Reference Center offers repair information for most makes and models of ATVs, lawn mowers, generators, diesel engines, motorboats and personal watercraft, chainsaws, tillers, tractors, and even snowmobiles are at your fingertips.

Student Research Center

Student Research Center provides students with easy, yet powerful access to secondary school databases such as MAS Ultra and Middle Search Plus.

Value Line

World Book Online
