About the Manatee County CRA

The Manatee County Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is a public entity created in 2002 for the purpose of revitalizing the County’s central neighborhoods and commercial corridor. The CRA staff functions within the Manatee County Neighborhood Services Department. 14th Street West Community Redevelopment Area (CRA)

The CRA Redevelopment Plan was adopted by the Manatee County CRA Agency on December 10, 2002 and by the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners on December 17, 2002. The 14th Street West Community Redevelopment Area is generally located from the City of Bradenton city limits at 26th Ave. W on 14th Street, south to Cortez Road. [more]

South County Community Redevelopment Area (CRA)

The South County Community Redevelopment Plan was adopted by the Manatee County Community Redevelopment Agency on December 10, 2002 and by the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners on December 17, 2002. As shown on the Community Redevelopment Area Map, the South County CRA is generally bounded by 53rd Avenue West on the north, Bowlees Creek, west of 15th Street (Old US 301) on the east, 65th Avenue and the US 41 Corridor to 69th Avenue West on the south, and the west side of US 41 on the west, and includes all properties situated within. The purpose of the matching grant program is to provide financial assistance to eligible persons and entities for improving existing landscaping and making building facade improvements to enhance commercial property located within the boundaries of a Community Redevelopment Area.

Benefits of a CRA

As part of a CRA, development may take advantage of Rapid Response Permitting, existing Transportation Concurrency Exception Area (TCEA) policies, 50% Commercial Enhancement Matching Grants, reduced criteria job creation incentives and impact fee reductions, and other potential incentives. [more]
