Events and Rentals
Would you like to host an event that requires more than the normal pavilion rental or small group gathering? Perhaps you'd like to host a multi-day fitness event, vendor gathering, training workshop, or some other type of event that will draw a lot of people and fall outside of the parameters of a normal special event. These events will require Departmental review before they can be planned and implemented. For this type of activity, individuals must submit a Special Event Application Form and an additional form, The Special Event Activity Proposal Form. In order for your event to receive approval, please give a detailed description of your event and fill out the form completely.
Large events may also require a certificate of insurance naming the County as additionally insured. Please refer to the example below for the wording necessary for this document.
Special Events: Rentals, Weddings, and Small Group Gatherings
Would you like to hold a family reunion at the Rye Preserve picnic pavilion? Perhaps you are interested in renewing your vows on the bank of the Manatee River at Emerson Point? All of these types of events are considered to be "special events" within the preserve and require advance notice. Any request to reserve a picnic pavillion or to hold an event at any County preserve must be made in writing a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the event. A special event fee, based upon the event and facility request, may be applicable.
If you would like to bring a group to the preserves, such as a field trip, club, or volunteer organization, please fill out the form below and return it to us. The County's preserves are a favorite spot for field trips and the Department works with instructors to manage and schedule trips while preserving the habitat within each preserve. It is important for groups to give the Department notice of their arrival so that staff can be available for assistance.
To reserve your date for a pavilion rental or wedding, please fill out the form below and return it via fax at (941) 741-3227 or email to kelli.pollanski@mymanatee.org . Facilities are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
