The Resource Management Division is responsible for habitat and wildlife management and public access on nearly 30,000 acres of conserved public land.
Manatee County's conservation properties include more than 30,000 acres of natural land which span the region's diverse ecological community. Visitors can explore more than 10 different properties, viewing a spectrum of habitat that ranges from the salty marshes of the coast to the dry prairie and sandy scrub of the east. [more]

Manatee County's Preserves
The Duette Preserve is the largest Preserve in the County system at over 24,000 acres in size. It is located in the eastern part of the County and contains the headwaters of Manatee River. read on

Natural Resources monthly calendar of events - check out the great free events happening in your preserves. The Natural Resources Department offers programs in environmental education, passive outdoor recreation, and volunteer stewardship.
