The Deepwater Horizon oil spill has yet to impact Manatee County. Manatee County officials continue to monitor the situation in the Gulf of Mexico and has created a strategy to combat any potential issues that might arise in the local waterways or beaches. As of yet, there has been no impact to public safety or wildlife. Coastal areas, beaches and local fishing areas are all safe for residents and visitors.

Please check back regularly for up-to-date news on the spill, the presence or absence of oil in Manatee County, important contact information and details on volunteering. This page will be updated on a regular basis as the situation continues to unfold.
