Web Site
We provide the software and hardware needed to run and maintain the County's Web site. We also manage an internal intranet Web site to provide the County with an area for communication and collaboration.
The County Web site use a type of software called a Content Management System (CMS) for page creation. The advantage of a CMS is that it allows non-technical people to write, edit, and publish web pages.
The Information Technology department maintains the CMS software, trains staff in its use, and monitors the incoming web traffic. In addition, we configure the Web pages to control their look and behavior. We also create custom 'widgets' such as the calendar and map tools that provide addtional ways of getting information from our site.
Finally, we maintain the hardware on which the Web site runs and the databases and repositories in which we store our information. We also secure the Web site from malicious Web attacks.

1998 - The Spinning Coins
This version of the Web site expanded the number of links to Departments under the Board of County Commissioners. 2001 - Blue Frames
