Procedures used to assign and change addresses Addressing Business Processes
From August 2009 through January 2011, Manatee County GIS and Manatee County Addressing cooperated in performing a detailed analysis of the county’s addressing processes and in documenting these processes in the county’s Provision business process analysis software.

This effort identified seven major processes performed by the county’s Address Coordinator in the day-to-day activities of assigning and changing addresses, assigning street names and commemorative street names and dealing with vanity street names.

The Address Change – Limited Process documents the procedures and tasks for changing addresses for a limited number of properties – either at the request of the owner or because the addresses do not comply with the county’s address grid.

The Address Change – Multi-site Process documents the procedures and tasks for changing addresses for a large number of properties (often an entire area). This is rare and is usually only done to bring an area into compliance with the county’s address grid.
