How we support Public Safety GIS & Public Safety Support
Manatee County GIS supports the Public Safety Department and other public safety agencies in Manatee County in various ways.

We produce the maps which are used by Manatee County's 9-1-1 dispatchers to direct emergency field units (including EMS, fire, law enforcement,, Marine Rescue, etc.) to the scene of an emergency event.

We produce the maps used by the field units of EMS, the Sheriff and the various fire districts to respond to emergency events.

We produce a variety of maps for Emergency Management to aid in their efforts to mitigate and respond to major area-wide emergencies within the county. Manatee County Emergency Management prepares for responding to hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and other natural and man-made disasters.

We produce EMS, Fire and MSO atlases (as well as other county atlases) for all of these agencies for field and administrative use.

- Street Centerline
A sample image of the street centerline layer.
We created and maintain a street centerline layer in our GIS which is used in the 9-1-1 maps (and many others) and which shows every street in the county. These centerlines also store attributes representing the address ranges along either side of each street segment (between intersections).
