GIS Maps and Data
This GIS Maps & Data page is where you will find links to our interactive map services, static maps and our GIS data which is available for download. We do have many more layers in our enterprise geodatabase so if you do not see the layer you need on the Data Download page, please contact the GIS section.
The term "map service" is used to describe interactive maps served online. Our interactive map services are built on ArcGIS Server from ESRI. ArcGIS Server provides advantages such as faster browsing, better security, and more manageable development life cycles. Our ultimate goal is to provide you, the customer, with a faster, more intuitive map browsing experience. We recommend that you use either Firefox or Chrome as your browser when using these map services as Firefox and Chrome are optimized for Javascript and these map services rely very heavily on Javascript, this will provide you with the best overall browsing experience. The term static map is used to describe a map file that was created at a specific point in time and whose data is not connected to the enterprise geodatabase in real time. These maps may come in a variety of formats but typically the file format is PDF. These maps are essentially snapshots of data at the time the map was created. [more]
Welcome to the GIS data download page where you can find a few of our most popular geospatial data layers available for download. We offer these layers in shapefile, compressed as zipfiles and KMZ file (which can be used with Google Earth). Shapefiles are projected in NAD83 State Plane Feet Zone 902 Florida West and the KMZ files are projected in geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). This represents only a small sample of the layers available so if you do not see the layer you are looking for please contact the GIS section for assistance. [more]
