Grandparents as Parents Program

Program provides support groups, Parenting the Second Time Around workshops, and counseling services for grandparents and other relatives who are raising children due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment, or voluntarily placed by the biological parent in the care of a relative. Speakers are brought in to provide needed information to the caregivers from various agencies. The program uses support groups, parenting workshops, a telephone support line and individual counseling to both the child and the relative caregiver.
