Children's Services Dedicated Millage funds an array of prevention, intervention, and treatment programs for children birth through seventeen years of age, as required by Manatee County Ordinance 91-42 and associated amendments. [more]
The Children's Services Advisory Board, appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, evaluates, prioritizes, and makes recommendations concerning the needs of Manatee County's children and families.
The majority of the funds are used to support prevention-based programs for children and their families. Programs are typically funded on a purchase of service basis, and payments are made only after services have been provided. Monthly fiscal reviews are conducted. [more]

The Children's Services Ordinance requires the production of an Annual Plan each fiscal year. This plan contains information about the Children's Services Advisory Board (CSAB), priority areas for funding, client demographic reports, and special projects. A large section of the plan has statistics on children and families including: general population, economic indicators, health indicators, safety indicators, and education indicators. [more]
