Hazardous Materials Assessment
Manatee County, through Land Development Code requirements, ensures that sites under review for development have demonstrated there are no hazardous materials on-site.
A hazardous materials assessment may be requested by Development Review staff while reviewing a project that likely involved the on-site use of hazardous materials in the past. Section 723 of the LDC addresses this subject. If hazardous materials are found on-site according to the report, the applicant is asked to provide a remediation plan to indicate how the hazardous material will be dealt with prior to commencement of construction.
