Citizen's Code Enforcement Guide
You can find a list of common violations and more information about Code Enforcement in our Citizen's Code Enforcement Guide
Below you will find examples of violations as well as how to get into compliance when cited for those violations.
Junk Vehicles
Even though the car on the left doesn't look like a junk vehicle, without a valid tag, Code Enforcement will treat it as one. If cited for this, all you need to do is obtain a valid tag.
Overgrown Lawn
No one likes to go out and mow the lawn in the Florida heat, but if your lawn looks anything like the first picture, Code Enforcement will issue a citation. Get a couple of buddies to cut the lawn or hire the neighborhood teen to do it for $10-$20. Either way, a maintained lawn will keep you in compliance.
Address Numbers
A lack of address numbers on an home or business can result in a citation. To remedy this, simply attach your address numbers in a conspicuous place.
Commercial or Restricted Vehicles
Commercial or restricted vehicles are not allowed on residential property. In order to be in compliance all you need to do is remove the vehicle.
Outdoor Storage
If cited for outdoor storage, do a little spring cleaning and remove all of the items to be compliant.
