Manatee invites those looking to avoid foreclosure to attend Florida Housing Help Workshop
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Sept. 27, 2010) – Manatee County invites families and property owners facing foreclosure to a Florida Housing Help workshop that offers HUD-certified housing counselors, local housing authorities, legal assistance, credit counseling services and many other foreclosure assistance programs.
The workshop will be held Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Imagine School of Palmer Ranch, 6220 McIntosh Road, Sarasota.
Several major lenders will be on hand to offer loan modification reviews, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo/Wachovia, JP Morgan/Chase, EMC, Ally Financial Inc. (formerly GMAC), Sun Trust, Sun Coast FTCU and M & I bank.
“It’s going to be a great chance for families who want to avoid foreclosure to find options,” said Denise Thomas, Manatee County Housing and Community Development Coordinator. “We’re encouraging anyone who has questions or concerns about foreclosure to attend.”
The workshop is being sponsored by Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, the Florida Department of Financial Services and the Division of Consumer Services in partnership with Manatee, Charlotte and Sarasota counties. The workshop is a bilingual event.
If you plan on attending, be sure to bring:
• Recent paycheck stubs and bank account statements
• Drivers License or picture ID and Social Security Cards
• Income Tax Returns along with W-2 Forms
• Hardship letter explaining delinquency of mortgage payments or any gap in employment
• Statements or bills documenting all household expenses
• Recent correspondence from your mortgage company and last mortgage statement
• Current property tax bill and proof of homeowners insurance
