Manatee County defers North County Maintenance Facility
County will explore additional locations
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Aug. 31, 2011) – A proposed North County Transportation Maintenance Facility scheduled to be considered by the County Commission tomorrow has been postponed indefinitely.
“The facility will be deferred while the County explores additional options,” Public Works Director Ron Schulhofer said.
The Commission was scheduled to consider on Sept. 1 a proposal to rezone an area between Erie Road and 69th Street East in Parrish and to consider a general development plan for the building. Planning Commissioners unanimously approved the rezone and site plan in mid-August.
