Manatee County Commission elects 2011 officers, names Commissioner Carol Whitmore as 2011 Board Chair
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Dec. 7, 2010) – Manatee County Commissioners today voted Carol Whitmore Chairman of the Board as the 2011 leadership and official appointments took shape.
Whitmore, an at-large commissioner since 2006, thanked fellow board members for their support and congratulated those appointed to new chairmanships. She was also voted 2011 chair of the Tourist Development Council.
Commissioner John Chappie will serve as 1st Vice Chairman. Commissioner Larry Bustle will be 2nd Vice Chairman and Commissioner Michael Gallen will be 3rd Vice Chairman.
Sitting Chairman Donna Hayes will serve as chair through Dec. 31, and new officers take their seats on Jan. 1, 2011.
Commissioners also voted on 2011 officers’ positions for the other boards on which they serve. Commissioner Bustle was reappointed as chair of the Manatee Port Authority. Commissioner Chappie will be 1st Vice Chairman; Commissioner Whitmore will be 2nd Vice Chairman; Commissioner Robin DiSabatino will be 3rd Vice Chairman.
Commissioner Joe McClash will be chair of the Civic Center Authority. Commissioner Gallen will be 1st Vice Chairman; Commissioner Hayes will be 2nd Vice Chairman; Commissioner DiSabatino will be 3rd Vice Chairman.
Commissioner Robin DiSabatino will serve as chair of the Community Redevelopment Agency. Commissioner Gallen will serve as Vice Chairman.
