Public Safety Coordinating Council

Purpose

The Public Safety Coordinating Council shall assess the population status of all correctional facilities to ensure the authorized capacities of such facilities, as established by the Florida Department of Corrections, are not exceeded, and make recommendations as to release programs, gain-time schedules, applicable bail bond schedules, and confinement status of inmates housed within each facility owned by the County. The Council may also develop a local correctional facilities plan for future construction needs.

Membership Requirements

  • Membership shall be as specified by Chapter 951.26, F.S.

Meetings

Meetings are held on the third Monday of every month in Room 939 of the Manatee County Administrative Center.
