Enterprise Zone Development Agency
Purpose
The purpose of the Enterprise Zone Development Agency is to assist in the development and implementation of a strategic plan. It also oversees and monitors the implementation of the strategic plan. The agency identifies and recommends ways to remove regulatory barriers to the Board of County Commissioners and identifies local resources or assistance available to eligible businesses and residents in the zone.
Membership Requirements
The EZDA shall consist of thirteen members, which shall consist of at least one representative from each of the following:
- local chamber of commerce;
- local financial or insurance entities, businesses operating within the nominated area;
- residents residing within the nominated area;
- non-profit community-based organizations operating within the nominated area;
- Suncoast Workforce Board;
- local code enforcement agency;
- local law enforcement agency.
Terms shall be 4 years in length.
Meetings
The EZDA meets every other month on the first Monday of the month at 9:30 a.m., University IFAS and Manatee County Extension Service, Hailey Room, 1303 17th Street West, in Palmetto.
