Childrens Services Advisory Board
Purpose
The purpose of the Childrens Services Advisory Board is to make recommendations regarding the expenditure of dedicated funding, to consult with various agencies involved in the Childrens Services Delivery System in an effort to minimize duplication of services and complete other such duties as may be assigned by the Board of County Commissioners.
Membership Requirements
The Board of County Commissioners appoints individuals for three year terms, representing the following areas:
- 1 Physician, preferably a Pediatrician;
- 1 Licensed Mental Health Professional;
- 1 Member of the NAACP;
- 5 Child Advocates (members of the general public with a special interest in children);
- 1 Criminal Justice Representative;
- 1 Member of the Manatee County School Board;
- 1 Representative of the Florida Dept. of Children & Families;
- 1 Representative of the Manatee County's United Way;
- 1 Judge of the Family Law Division/Guardian Ad Litem Representative
Meetings
Meetings held monthly on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. on the 4th Floor of the Manatee County Administration Center.
