Animal Services Advisory Board
Purpose
The Animal Services Advisory Board of Manatee County was re-established by the Board of County Commissioners in Resolution 95-308 on July 30, 1996 for the purpose of considering reports and presentations, advising and making recommendations to the Board in all matters involving Animal Services and related problems in Manatee County, Florida, in which the Board has lawful jurisdiction. Resolution R-00-80, approved by the Board of County Commissioners on April 4, 2000, establishes the Animal Services Advisory Board, providing for the power and purposes of the Advisory Board and defines membership.
Membership Requirements
- Membership is required to include seven (7) members;
- One person from each of the following agencies or categories: Three (3) persons representing existing organizations, agencies or voluntary associations in the community whose primary objective and purpose is the care, handling and rescue of animals;
- One (1) person employed as a veterinarian, representing veterinarians within Manatee County;
- Three (3) persons, one of whom shall have expertise in business and organization and/or operational endeavors;
- All appointments shall be for a term of four (4) years.
Meetings
Meetings are held monthly at various locations as approved by members of the Animal Services Board.
