Special Regulated Watersports Area Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the Warner's Bayou Special Regulated Watersports Area Committee shall be to:

  • Monitor compliance with the restrictions set forth under the SRWSA section of Manatee County Ordinance 04-73 (now Section 2-35-45(d) of the Manatee County Code of Laws);
  • To educate users on the special conditions and restrictions of the SRWSA;
  • To confer with and to advise the County's Coastal Programs Manager and or their designee on SRWSA related matters.

Membership Requirements

  • Warner's Bayou east and west have been divided into seven distinct districts which shall be represented by nine members.
  • Applicants residing on the bayou shall be given preference in appointment. The commission may appoint members at large for districts where applications for membership have not been received.

Meetings

The committee shall have the authority to set the time and place for its meetings. The committee will meet every month as needed, at a time and place to be determined by the committee. Meetings may be rescheduled or a special meeting called by the committee at any regular meeting. In addition, the chairman shall have the authority to call a special meeting.
